What is Seed Cycling?
Seed cycling is a natural method of regulating hormones in the body by consuming different types of seeds during specific phases of the menstrual cycle. The powerful Food as Medicine technique helps your body naturally balance estrogen and progesterone levels, which can alleviate symptoms of PMS, improve fertility, and even promote overall hormonal health. How Seed Cycling Works
To start seed cycling, you'll need to divide your menstrual cycle into two phases: the follicular phase (days 1-14) and the luteal phase (days 15-28). During the follicular phase, which is the first half of your cycle, you'll consume 1 scoop of The Seed Cycle Phase 1 which is a blend of Certified Organic, ground flax and pumpkin seeds. These seeds are high in lignans and omega-3 fatty acids, which are said to help balance estrogen levels. During the luteal phase, the second half of your cycle, you consume 1 scoop The Seed Cycle Phase 2 which is a blend of Certified Organic, ground sesame and sunflower seeds. These seeds are high in zinc and omega-6 fatty acids, which are said to help balance progesterone levels. The other way to seed cycle is based off the moons phases, this is recommended if you have irregular or missing periods, PCOS or Endometriosis or in menopause. The lunar cycle (moon phases) has been used to regulate a woman's’ cycles for generations. The moon’s influence on our body and hormones is powerful, it can promote the release of neurohormones, sex hormones and melatonin. When you seed cycle using the moon phases it allows you to experience the healthy effects that seed blends have on your hormones as well as mimicking a 28 day cycle.
Rather than commencing our signature Phase 1 on the first day of your menstrual cycle, seed cycling can commence on the first day of a new moon cycle (lunar cycle). You would switch to Phase 2 on a full moon and continue consuming the blend until the next new moon.
Seed Cycling Therapeutic Dose
Consuming a therapeutic dose as well as being consistent with your seed cycling routine is crucial for the effectiveness. A therapeutic dose refers to the specific amount of seeds that should be consumed for optimal hormone balance. Consuming too little or too much of a particular seed can make seed cycling less effective. Here at The Seed Cycle we carefully curated our Seed Cycle Products to ensure that the dosage is correct and effective. This makes it easy for you to incorporate seed cycling into your routine without having to worry about measuring and mixing the seeds themselves.Seed Cycling Consistency is Key
Consistency is also key when it comes to seed cycling. It takes time for the seeds to work their magic and for hormones to balance out. Skipping doses or varying the amount of seeds consumed can disrupt this process and make it less effective.Top Tip: Consistently consuming the therapeutic dose of the key seeds throughout your menstrual cycle is key for achieving optimal hormone balance with seed cycling.
